Back in December we received our first EdWard from the EDUCATE programme. This showed that we were evidence aware. Recently, we received our second EdWard – this one shows that we are now evidence applied!
But what does ‘Evidence Applied’ mean? It means that not only did we complete EDUCATE’s rigorous and comprehensive training programme but we took this training and applied it. We used our research training to find out that students who are engaged with Get My Grades show a 17% improvement on our exam style questions when they repeat a topic. This gives us the first robust evidence that Get My Grades helps students learn!
But our journey won’t stop here – we want to build on our initial results and expand our research horizons. We are about to pilot cutting edge research in collaboration with the University of Plymouth’s psychology department. If you are interested in taking part please email [email protected].
We would like to say a big thank you to the EDUCATE programme all their support so far. The EDUCATE programme is based at the Knowledge Lab at UCL’s Institute of Education and is match-funded by the European Regional Development Fund and UCL’s partners: UCL Engineering, the British Educational Suppliers Association (BESA), Nesta and F6S. This collaboration brings together all the strands of knowledge, experience and expertise needed to produce world-class EdTech, like Get My Grades. We have taken their approach fully onboard and now are applying the evidence we found to enhance Get My Grades.
